Description

This is another drawing that will be implemented with a parallax scrolling effect for a website of an online C#, Java and Rust course where you can program your own space ship and fly through space. If you want to see the end result you will see it on  www.flattiverse.com soon. By the way it is an awesome course, you should consider participating if you are a programmer or interested in learning how to program in C#, Java or Rust ;) (Wink). It is for beginners and all advanced levels too.

Oh and the name flattiverse refers to a universe with two dimensional laws to keep it easy for students to program their ship ;) (Wink)

Hello again Scharle! I'm from :iconprojectcomment:!

Let me tell you that I absolutely love the composition. Although I didn't measure, I'm pretty sure the mothership falls under the rule of thirds guidelines. Adding warm tones to go with the guideline positions was a really smart move and it paid off! Same goes for the small ship. A big round of applause for the composition. Clap

As for the lighting, I really like how you subtly added a warm tone to the lit areas and a cooler tone to the shadows. This brought a great contrast and depth to the scene IMO.

Now for the things which need improvement! First of all, brushwork needs to be improved because you have a habit of scribbling with a soft brush. While this is fun at times, it's important that you define the forms and highlights properly with your brushwork. For an instance, you should add hard edges to the metal panels of the mothership where its lit by your key light source. Likewise, you can have more soft edges where it's in the shadow. Having a great balance between hard and soft edges is a must to make a piece stand out so you'll definitely have to improve on that. Don't be afraid to add sharper highlights because crispiness in an image is an eye-catcher!

Overall, I really like this piece! if you improve on the areas I've pinpointed, you'll do even better! Keep up the great work my friend! :)
